You can take onew ear out while driving. But volumn is so low that you would not be able to hear.

If you are looking for a good pair of wireless headphones for a low price, these are it! The sound is awesome and after a while it seems as though you are not even wearing them. I can watch TV or play a game while my daughter sleeps and not give up sound quality. I had to take them off a couple of times to make sure my surround sound was not still on, that's how good the sound is. My old headphones buzzed the entire time, a low buzzing but I am incredibly picky so I couldn't stand it after a while. Even when there is a quiet scene or silence, no buzzing or feedback!!

A lot of the online reviews will say they are uncomfortable, but they only get as uncomfortable as any headphones do after a while of wearing them. They are a bit bulky, but sound quality makes up for the dorky look of them. I guess I can see how they would be uncomfortable for someone with a large head though. I have an average size head (Anytime I get a hat I get a medium size, or regular). So as long as you don't have to buy a large or extra large hat, you should be fine.

The charger is a great addition. My last headphones needed batteries and let me tell you, it was irritating to constantly change the batteries on either the headphones or the base, so this freedom is definitely a positive. Some of the reviews I read said it was hard to get them in the charger, mine fall right into place and begin to charge, no problem at all, so I would figure user error on their part.

So if you want a good set of wireless headphones but don't want to pay $70+ for them, these are it. Buy Digital Wireless Stereo Headphones!

These headphones worked for a couple days and then the receiver stopped connecting. Even after a complete charge of both the headphones and the receiver the connection does not get made. The headphones beep like its trying to connect and then beeps again a few seconds later after failing. The negative reviews above are based on ignorance. This product is intended to be used in a vehicle. All car electronics are sold this way as they are intended to be connected to the vehicle's electrical system. If you know what you're getting and how to use it, this product fits the bill quite nicely.

As it happens, I didn't want to use this in my vehicle. I connected it to a 12-volt power supply I had sitting in my closet and my kids use it on the computer. Now they can play their online games and watch movies without bugging me and the missus. Of course, I can still easily use it in my vehicle should I choose to do so.

The headphones are a bit flimsy but I didn't expect much for the price. This is the only reason I didn't award 5 out of 5. Research indicates that replacing the headphones when they eventually break will not be difficult or costly (Wal Mart sells a kid-friendly set -- perhaps a bit more durable -- for ~$25, for instance).

The headphones use 2-AAA batteries in each set. The kids naturally forget to turn them off when they're done using them. The batteries haven't died yet -- it's been 3 weeks -- but when they eventually do I'll probably replace them with NiMH rechargeables.

Sound quality is a bit lacking; I assume that's due to the limited bandwidth offered by infrared. I also have a pair of Bluetooth wireless headphones (Logitech FreePulse) and they have much better frequency response but even they aren't quite as good as wired. You have to expect a trade-off for going wireless, of course. For the kids' needs it's more than adequate.

Overall, if your expectations are realistic, there is no reason this product shouldn't be more than satisfactory.

My Mother has had this product for years. She only has problems when the battery is getting low. My Father was going deaf having to listen to the volume up so loud, now he can listen at a comfortable level and my Mother can listen at hers. I bought this some time ago and having never had a 'wireless' headphone before I can't say whether it's very good relatively speaking. It used to work once in a while, stop, I'd have to find a frequency it would work on, not very fun all in all. But that's not the issue I have here. I can't use it any longer in any event since the wire that goes out to the device you're getting your music or tv sound through has completely become brittle and is falling away from the wire. This from a "Panasonic" device which was a name I associated with quality of electronics and safety of their devices. I don't have enough electrical tape to cover this up and the wire is not easily accessible to me. Great, thanks Panasonic. So if you find this or any Panasonic headphones somewhere - Beware. Great headphones. The range and strength of the signal for my ipod (which I'm using the headphones for) is powerful.....I can leave my ipod on second floor and go down to first floor and close to the curb before it starts to break up!!!

The one problem (and I had to take one star away because of it), is that if you have glasses (sunglasses, etc.) you'll find the back and top of your ear short on space. Your glasses lay on top of your ears (sometimes going to the back of the ear depending on your ears and head) and the side of the headphone go over your ear. Thus there is only so much space. For me it's not bad as my ears go out a bit so there is space, but others who have ears close to their head may have a real problem.

I found the sound quality to be good. Technology is supposed to be one of the newer ones on the market, thus the price.

As you can see they're not the over the ear type of headphones, so if that's what you're looking for look elsewhere.

One improvement would be to be able to purchase an extra battery pack. After doing several searches I'm unable to find individual battery packs. So if and when your original runs down, you have to wait for it to charge (usually takes around 4-5 hours).

Otherwise this these headphones are really, really good!

My fault is that I am a loyal Motorola fan. A little less so after a year with this flop. To Motorola: Thank you so much for going out on a limb and trying to produce this technologically advanced product. This is exactly what I was looking for. I can't what until you come out with a very refined second edition.

To potential consumers: Beware. I won't repeat all of the other problems unvailed in the other reviews but I assure you I could echo the other complaints. New complaints: They came with a white bluetooth adapter that really clashes with my black 30 GB. I wish they would have cared enough to ask me what I wanted. Second, Every time I wear them I get a headache. The back of the S9 is so heavy the back of the headphone slips down and rides on my neck. This could be my fault as my ears seem to be low on my head and the S9 doesn't get to rest on my ears. Third, My headphones controls stopped working with less than an hours use on them. I had to send them in and get them replaced. Fourth, Although made for fitness they are not very workout friendly. Comfort, sound quality, and control are compromised under workout conditions.

Please beware of the downfalls of these. If still interested, go to Best Buy and try them on before purchasing. Thank you Motorola for trying to produce such an awesome product. Please don't be afraid to revise the design of the S9. I am eagerly awaiting a new edition of S9 that performs as needed for workout conditions

I love these headphones. In fact, I'm online today buying a replacement set for the one I've been using for over a year (battery leaked inside base and killed the contact!).
